Born in Beirut, Lebanon, Dr. Salim Thabet brings extensive international experience and training to his role as an interventional cardiologist. He earned his undergraduate degree from the American University of Beirut, where he also completed medical school and an internal medicine residency.
After moving to the United States, Dr. Thabet conducted postdoctoral research on inflammation and cardiovascular disease at both Emory and Vanderbilt universities, working under the mentorship of Dr. David Harrison. He then completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio. Following this, he returned to Emory University for his Cardiology Fellowship and later completed an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
Dr. Thabet is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology. He currently serves as an interventional cardiologist with The Cardiovascular Group in Lawrenceville, GA. His professional interests include percutaneous interventions for coronary and peripheral vascular diseases as well as transcatheter procedures for structural heart disease, providing advanced treatment options to enhance patient outcomes.
