Dr. Sandler was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. He received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. Dr. Sandler furthered his post-graduate education work with rotations at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg.
Dr. Sandler went on to complete his internship and residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. He completed his cardiology fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He worked as a Clinical Instructor for one year in the Division of Cardiology at Washington University before moving to Atlanta.
Dr. Sandler is Board-Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases. He is a member of the American Heart Association and the Medical Association of Georgia and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He has over thirty years of experience in private practice and hospital work. He has dedicated his career to improving cardiac care for patients in Gwinnett, Hall, and Forsyth counties. Dr. Sandler is also known for his caring attitude toward his staff.
Currently, Dr. Sandler serves as the Executive Chairman of Cardiovascular Group and the director of Cardiology at Northside Gwinnett and Duluth Hospitals.
Dr. Sandler has been voted in the top 5% of cardiologists in the USA by his peers since 2008.
Dedicated to his family, which is spread across four continents, Dr. Sandler is the proud father of three children and five grandchildren. He is an avid golfer and travel enthusiast. His favorite song is a one hit wonder called “500 miles” sung by The Proclaimers.

Dr. Sandler’s special interests include cardiac catheterizations, peripheral vascular studies, and 2D and stress echocardiography. He specializes in non-surgical cardiology, such as transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE)—diagnostic ultrasound procedures that examine the heart and its structures.
From 2005 to the present, Dr. Sandler has been voted one of the “Top five cardiologists in Atlanta by peers,” according to Atlanta Magazine.
